1. Service overview
XCFinder is a free web service dedicated to the analysis and visualization of paragliding flights. It allows users to browse flight tracks, analyze performance, and view 3D trajectories.
2. Acceptance of the terms
By accessing and using XCFinder, you agree to be bound by these terms of use. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the service.
3. Use of the service
3.1 User account
To access certain features (adding flights, saving preferences), you must create an account by signing in with Google OAuth. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
3.2 User content
When you upload IGC files or any other content to XCFinder, you retain all intellectual-property rights in that content. By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive license to store, process, and display that content as part of providing the service.
3.3 Acceptable use
You agree to:
- Use the service lawfully and in accordance with these terms
- Not upload illegal, offensive, or inappropriate content
- Not attempt to bypass the service’s security measures
- Not use the service to harm other users or the service itself
- Not mass-extract data from the service (scraping)
4. Flight data
4.1 Data sources
Flight tracks displayed on XCFinder mainly come from the FFVL website (Fédération Française de Vol Libre). This data is public and accessible to everyone.
4.2 Weather data
Historical weather data is provided by Open-Meteo. This information is indicative only and must not be used for flight planning.
5. Liability and safety warnings

Paragliding is an aerial sport with inherent risks. XCFinder is an educational analysis and visualization tool only.
Users acknowledge and accept that they use the information provided by XCFinder at their own risk:
- Displayed tracks and data are historical information and do not reflect current conditions
- GPS navigation features do not replace proper flight planning and an assessment of weather conditions
- Each pilot is responsible for their own safety and must evaluate their skills, weather conditions, and risks before any flight
- XCFinder and its creators disclaim any liability in case of accident, injury, or damage resulting from use of the service
- The service is provided “as is” without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose
6. Intellectual property
The source code, design, algorithms, and all elements that make up XCFinder are the property of Sébastien Picot / Capsule5, unless stated otherwise. Any reproduction, distribution, or unauthorized use is prohibited.
7. Service availability
We strive to keep the service accessible 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or for any other technical reason.
8. Changes to the service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service at any time, with or without notice. We may also change these terms of use. Material changes will be notified to registered users.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the service in case of a breach of these terms of use, without notice and without liability on our part.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to the use of the service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the French courts.
